The schedule for the fourth annual PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature was announced Thursday by Francine Prose, the PEN American Center s president, and Caro Llewellyn, the festival director. Highlights of this year s festival, from April 29 through May 4, are to include the Arthur Miller Freedom to Write Lecture, to be delivered by Umberto Eco; a conversation about efforts to end genocide in Darfur between the actress Mia Farrow and the French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy; and a cabaret night. This year s festival will include appearances by more than 100 authors and, for the first time, events in Albany, Rochester and Boston as well as New York. Among the authors scheduled to take part are Ian McEwan, Joyce Carol Oates, Mario Vargas Llosa and Salman Rushdie. The full schedule is available at pen.org.
