ITHACA Students from the Ithaca Academy of Dance will be Dancin’ in the Streets at their annual concert this weekend. But for many weeks, it looked like they might have to take the show’s title literally.

Doin’ the ‘boot dance’: Stepping to success (Rochester Democrat and Chronicle)
The African-American art form formerly known as the “boot dance” is revived with more vigor than ever, in the annual Rochester Step-Off. You can witness more than 250 dancers from 14 local schools in step dance competition. The goal of the Rochester Step-Off program is to boost grades and reduce the drop-out rate among students who participate.
